John Alvarado

John Alvarado is a Senior Vice President with CBRE's Capital Markets Institutional Properties practice. Before joining CBRE, Mr. Alvarado was a Managing Director in the Capital Markets Group of Jones Lang LaSalle where he focused on the disposition of office properties with a particular focus in the southwest region. Mr. Alvarado also worked closely with leasing and management personnel to conduct due-diligence for acquisitions advise clients on valuation maximization strategies and create optimal exit strategies for single assets and portfolios.

Mr. Alvarado and his team have successfully closed nearly 700 equity office sales transactions comprising 220 million square feet for a total consideration of $29 billion. With a special focus on the unique needs and capitalization strategies for net-leased properties and portfolios, Mr. Alvarado and his team have also successfully executed single-tenant and sale-leaseback transactions totaling 44 million square feet for a total consideration exceeding $8 billion since 2001.

During his career, Mr. Alvarado has transacted record-setting sales in Philadelphia, San Diego, Austin and Dallas. In addition to single asset sales, he has also led portfolio sale transactions in markets including Portland, Orange County, Dallas, Houston, Oklahoma City and Austin.
