Bio
Joe Smith has over 30 years' experience in commercial real estate. For the last 25 years, he has focused on sales and leasing along the U.S./Mexico border, extending into mainland Mexico. He has successfully represented both owners and users in completing millions of square feet of leases and sales.
In addition, over the span of his career, he has represented both buyers and sellers in a wide range of investment transactions, including industrial projects, shopping centers, residential development sites, and hotels, as well as acquisition of equity for both development and investment.
For the past 20 years, he has represented a multi-national 3PL in site selection and negotiations throughout U.S. and Mexico. In so doing, he has gained on-site knowledge of most major distribution markets throughout the U.S. and Mexico.
He spent the first 13 years of his career in the Downtown San Diego office of CBRE. Mr. Smith then moved to The Burnham Company, which was subsequently acquired by Cushman & Wakefield. He returned to CBRE in January of 2011.
Throughout his career, Mr. Smith has exhibited the ability to successfully complete complex transactions in a multi-national/multi-cultural environment.
