Jim Dunn is Senior Managing Director of ORIX Corporation USA's Real Estate and Municipal Capital Business Group and President and Head of ORIX Real Estate Holdings. In this role, Mr. Dunn leads and manages all commercial real estate investment activities for ORIX Corporation USA (ORIX USA), which includes business that originates bridge and construction loans and invests in securities backed by commercial real estate properties in the U.S. and Canada. Mr. Dunn is a member of the ORIX USA Executive Committee and is a voting member of the firm's Investment Committee. In addition, Mr. Dunn is a Board Member of ORIX Commercial Mortgage Servicing Holdings LLC, is the Collateral Manager for ORIX's commercial real estate managed CLO, and has overall responsibility for Boston Financial Investment Management, Lancaster Pollard, Red Capital Group, and ORIX Municipal Finance. Prior to his appointment as Senior Managing Director, Mr. Dunn served for more than 10 years as Chief Credit Officer and Head of Commercial Real Estate Risk for ORIX USA. In that role, he oversaw the evaluation of all commercial real estate investments proposed by ORIX Municipal Finance, ORIX Capital Markets, ORIX Corporate Capital, ORIX Real Estate Capital, ORIX Real Estate Equities, and Red Mortgage Capital. Prior to joining ORIX, Mr. Dunn was a Director of Securitization at GE Capital Commercial Real Estate. In this role, he managed the successful disposition of over 700 commercial loans for a combined balance in excess of $5 billion. He was responsible for all collateral-related presentations, questions, marketing, and representation and warranty disclosure to rating agencies and investors. During his tenure, he successfully effectuated the sale of all loans originated by GE via B-piece investor negotiation. He worked at GE Capital for 10 years in a variety of roles including: Portfolio/Acquisition Analyst, Asset Manager for Distressed and Participating Debt, and Senior Underwriter and Team Leader. He began his career working for Northcorp Realty Advisors, an RTC contractor, where he was responsible for modeling the acquisition of troubled debt portfolios. He subsequently took a position with GE Capital Real Estate at the beginning of GE Capital's buying binge of defaulted RTC- and FDIC-troubled debt portfolios. Mr. Dunn earned two undergraduate degrees in Finance and Accounting and a Master of Business Administration from Texas A&M University, where he graduated 12th in his class while working part time to fund his education. An active community member, Mr. Dunn is the President of ORIX Foundation and serves on the Executive Board of Big Brothers Big Sisters, as well as the nonprofit advisory board of Planned Living Assistance of North Texas.
