Bio
Ji Won Sin is the Head of Originations and Chief Compliance Officer of Sound Mark Partners. In this role, she is responsible for leading originations and is involved in credit oversight, underwriting of new investments, closing of transactions and asset management of current investments. Ms. Sin prescreens, structures and originates potential new investments through direct client relationships, mortgage brokers, loan sales advisors and potential partners.
Prior to joining Sound Mark Partners in 2013, Ms. Sin was a Director at CBRE Capital Partners where she worked with the current Sound Mark Partners team in a similar role, responsible for originations, credit, underwriting, structuring and asset management.
Prior to joining CBRE Capital Partners in 2010, Ms. Sin was a Director in the Structured Finance Team at Newmark Knight Frank’s Capital Markets Group from 2008 to 2009. The Structured Finance Team specialized in arranging and restructuring equity and debt for all commercial real estate classes, note and investment sale facilitation, and loan modification advisory.
From 2006 to 2008, Ms. Sin was a First Vice President in the large loan group at Countrywide Commercial Real Estate Finance, where she oversaw, underwrote and closed $1.2B of loans. In addition, Ms. Sin managed junior underwriters and third party contract underwriters at Countrywide.
From 2001 to 2006, Ms. Sin was a Vice President at Metropolitan Funding Corporation (“MFC”), a privately held FHA originations firm. At MFC, Ms. Sin originated, underwrote and closed $197 million of multifamily and healthcare loans through FHA and Fannie Mae, in addition to closing bridge and mezzanine loans.
Ms. Sin holds a J.D. degree from Brooklyn Law School and B.A. degree from Dickinson College. Ms. Sin is an admitted attorney in New York and holds a NY Real Estate Broker’s license.
