Jeffrey Ackerman is the Managing Director and market leader for the Pittsburgh office of CBRE, the largest commercial real estate services company in the world. Mr. Ackerman leads 60 real estate professionals and 145 employees in western Pennsylvania and West Virginia, working in multiple service lines including brokerage, investment properties, asset services, property management, corporate services, debt & equity finance, facilities management, project management and valuation & appraisal services. Jeffrey is responsible for the successful integration of these business lines for the benefit of CBRE's clients.
Jeffrey has a career spanning 30 years, with experience in virtually every aspect of commercial real estate from brokerage to executive management and operations, construction management, asset management, acquisition and disposition and contract negotiations. For 16 years, Mr. Ackerman was one of CBRE's top-producing sales professionals, the leader of its Investment Properties group in Pittsburgh and, for three years, the national managing director of CBRE's Private Capital Group. During his leadership of the Private Capital Group, he led the growth, expansion and recruiting for this group across the U.S. and was instrumental in integrating multiple service lines as well as rolling out new service offerings and initiatives to benefit CBRE's investment clients.
During his tenure as a broker, Mr. Ackerman specialized in advising institutional and private real estate investors in the disposition and acquisition of income-producing office, retail, multi-family and net-leased properties. Mr. Ackerman was widely recognized as the market leader in the Pittsburgh area in the sale of investment properties and has closed over $5 billion of commercial property transactions. He has been honored numerous times by CBRE at its annual recognition conference as one of its top producers nationally.
Mr. Ackerman now serves as a trusted advisor to institutional owners, major corporations and public agencies, and is widely respected as one of the Pittsburgh region's foremost industry experts and a highly respected CBRE leader.
