Jeff Smith

Since joining Ryan in 1986, Jeff has held a variety of roles within the company, including estimating, managing construction projects, selling and developing real estate, and opening and leading the company’s Midwest and Great Lakes regional offices. Now, as President, Jeff oversees business development and growth of Ryan’s regions and sectors. As a member of Ryan’s Executive Management team, he is responsible for developing, communicating and overseeing the formation and execution of the company’s strategic initiatives. In addition to oversight of regional and sector growth, Jeff plays a key role in strategic business development and fostering client relationships.

Combining his engineering and construction experience with over 30 years in real estate development, Jeff connects with thought leaders across the country through his involvement in various economic development groups, municipal councils, urban renewal task forces and industry panels. He currently serves on the board of North Memorial Health Care and Twin Cities Habitat for Humanity, and is the National Board Chair for the Jeremiah Program. He is an active participant in Junior Achievement, Homes for Hope and Tri-City Family Services, and is the former Board Chair of the Young Presidents’ Organization Chicago Chapter and of Orchestra Iowa.
