Jeff Schmidt

With more than 12 years of experience in commercial real estate finance, Jeff Schmidt, Director, is responsible for financing income-producing properties including office, apartment, industrial, hospitality, and retail in the Midwest region.

Throughout his career, Mr. Schmidt has been involved in numerous financing structures including permanent, construction, bank, bridge, mezzanine, and equity placement. His recent focus includes sourcing conventional bank and HUD construction financing for historic tax credit redevelopments. Prior to joining Walker & Dunlop, Mr. Schmidt held the position of assistant vice president and served in a similar capacity at Grandbridge Real Estate Capital. Mr. Schmidt started his career in 2003 as a development associate for Minneapolis-based Dominium Development & Acquisition, LLC where he was involved in all aspects of market-rate and Section 42 Low Income Housing Tax Credit multifamily development across the Midwest.

Mr. Schmidt holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in real estate and urban land economics from the University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Business.

He is a member of National Association for Industrial and Office Parks (NAIOP), the Mortgage Bankers Association (MBA), the Wisconsin Real Estate Alumni Association, and the non-profit organization Historic Milwaukee, Inc.
