Bio

Jeff Dortmund is the Director of Real Estate for Cornerstone Capital Partners Corporation. Mr. Dortmund has over 29 years of diversified experience in the real estate industry and an additional 16 years in retail management. Cornerstone Capital Partners Corporation has acquired and developed in excess of 50 single tenant properties valued in excess of $250,000,000 for tenants such as Walgreens, CVS, Tim Hortons, Starbucks, Dollar General and Max & Erma’s Restaurants. Mr. Dortmund’s primary focus at Cornerstone Capital Partners is build-to-suit development for Cornerstone’s corporate clients. As Director of Real Estate, Mr. Dortmund is responsible for the relationship management of Cornerstone clients and new client development. In addition, Mr. Dortmund is responsible for the oversight of all aspects of development including site selection, lease negotiation, land acquisition, zoning approval, construction budget, construction management and property management. Additionally, Cornerstone develops and partners with various clients on tax credit new construction and historic preservation residential development. Prior to joining Cornerstone, Mr. Dortmund held various management positions during his 31 years of employment with Big Bear Supermarkets in Columbus, Ohio most recently as Director of Real Estate, a position that Mr. Dortmund held for 9 years. As Director of Real Estate, Mr. Dortmund oversaw the construction of $70 million of real estate development including the development and sale of the 360 acre Big Bear Farms. Other notable projects were the acquisition of the Pantry Pride supermarket chain, the acquisition of the Big Bear perishable warehouse facility, the sale of the Big Bear Bakery and the sale of 48 acres of surplus ground to the city of Columbus for their Police training facility. Mr. Dortmund was responsible for negotiating 35 supermarket leases and worked with numerous major contractors and consultants as part of the development process. Mr. Dortmund worked closely with all of the municipalities to assure land planning and zoning approval and was directly responsible for site selection. In addition, Mr. Dortmund disposed of $50 million of real estate including the sale of 4 Big Bear Plus and Harts department store properties and negotiated the termination of leases on 6 department stores and 2 warehouses. Mr. Dortmund oversaw and coordinated various real estate matters on behalf of the Big Bear Pension and Profit Sharing Trust. In addition, Mr. Dortmund was responsible for the property management at 5 shopping centers and 35 store locations and authorized payment of real estate taxes, insurance and CAM invoices and reported sales to landlords on all properties. On behalf of Big Bear as landlord, Mr. Dortmund negotiated over 100 shopping center tenant leases, several office and warehouse leases and numerous in-store tenant license agreements with banks and for various retail uses such as sushi, dry cleaning, beauty salons, shoe repair and travel agencies, including ATM and photo lab contracts covering over 50 store locations. Mr. Dortmund received his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from The Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio.
