Bio

Jim Ziegler is responsible for PegasusAblon’s retail real estate investments including both acquisition of existing properties and ground-up development opportunities. Jim has been active in the real estate industry for more than 27 years, primarily in retail development in Texas. Prior to joining PegasusAblon, Jim was Senior Vice President and Development Partner for The Retail Connection’s Connected Development Services division where he was responsible for analyzing, pursuing, and negotiating acquisition and development investments.While in this position Ziegler developed the 400,000 square foot JC Penney/Belk anchored Weatherford Ridge Shopping Center Previously, Jim enjoyed a long tenure with United Commercial Development which was formed in 1988, with Jim serving as Chief Operating Officer. Jim handled the acquisition and financing of 47 tracts of commercial and residential land throughout the DFW Metroplex. He also supervised the acquisition and disposition of a retail portfolio of 16 projects totaling more than two million square feet and a market value in excess of $200 million dollars. While at UC, Jim led the acquisition of notable retail projects including Casa Linda Plaza Shopping Center, White Rock Market Place, Hillcrest Village, and Pitman Corner in Plano, Texas, among other significant assets. Jim began his real estate career as a financial executive. He was the Controller for Dunning Development, which involved oversight of all accounting, financial and management components of that operation, in addition to handling all aspects of partnership relations for over 4.5 million square feet of neighborhood shopping centers. His entry into real estate was in public accounting as an auditor working primarily on real estate syndications. Education: Jim holds a BBA from the University of Texas at Dallas.
