James “Jim” Vecchiarelli is the Chief Financial Officer for Peterson Companies and serves on the Company’s Executive, Investment and Finance Committees. Jim plays a key role in setting the company’s deal structures and business plans for its properties and oversees the company’s financial, tax, accounting and risk management functions. Jim is involved in all areas of the company’s strategic and financial planning and its financial relationships, including those with its partners. Jim has been a valued employee of Peterson Companies for more than 40 years. His efforts have helped the company to consistently meet and exceed enterprise goals making Peterson Companies one of the leading developers in the region. Throughout his career, Jim has been able to grow with the company and expand his responsibilities as the company expanded from its residential land development roots to grow into a multifaceted developer and investor. In his most recent role, Jim served as the Company’s Chief Operating Officer. Jim is a Certified Public Accountant and a graduate of the University of Maryland, College Park with a BS degree in Accounting. FUN FACT: Jim was hired as the company’s eighth employee. FAVORITE PROJECT: Jim is a native Washingtonian and having grown up in Silver Spring, Maryland, he is proud to have played a role in the company’s redevelopment of Downtown Silver Spring, a 440,000 SF mixed-use property located in the heart and soul of one of the region’s most dynamic, vibrant communities.
