James Maffia

Jim attended Southern Illinois University at Carbondale where he earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management. Following graduation, Jim worked for his father in construction before joining Schal and Associates, Inc. At Schal, he had the opportunity to work on high rise projects in downtown Chicago (Stone Container and Combined Insurance tenant build-outs and Jaymont Properties, 303 W. Madison core & shell 30 story building.) As the building demand in the suburbs increased, Jim became a Field Superintendent for a local general contractor, directing projects for Walgreens, Best Buy, Jewel, Pep Boys, and various retail shopping centers. In 1995, Jim and John became the owners of DEJAMES Builders, Inc. and have driven it to the successful business it is today. As Vice President, Jim manages Field Operations and Marketing for DEJAMES Builders, Inc. Jim has earned both OSHA 10-Hour, 30-Hour and OSHA Trench & Backfill Certifications. Jim is a member of ICSC, U.S. Green Buildings Council, St. Viator High School Grounds Committee. Jim is a licensed real estate broker, and is also an active member of the Elgin, St. Charles and Batavia Chambers of Commerce and a board member for Boys and Girls Club.
