James Kinsey

James Kinsey is a Principal and Chief Operating Officer of U.S. Capital Markets, based in Avison Young's New York office. Avison Young U.S. Capital Markets is comprised of investment sales, Debt, and Structured Finance. In this role, James supports both the leadership team and the capital markets platform in the implementation of growth initiatives, all while driving best-practices and collaboration across the nation.

James aids in overseeing the Capital Markets team, which is comprised of approximately 150 professionals throughout the United States. In overseeing the national platform, he is responsible for leading strategic growth, organizing recruiting efforts, and a myriad of other initiatives. In the 20 years of commercial real estate experience that he now brings to Avison Young, James was involved in several significant leadership capacities, including business ownership.

James is a Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM) and is active within the organization's New York chapter. In addition, he is a member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS), as well as of the Real Estate Board of New York. He is a graduate of Boston College.
