Bio
James began his real estate career in 1983, giving him 37 years of industry experience. He started in Boston, MA with a local developer. In 1985 he moved to Tampa and accelerated his career with a national “office” development company, Towermarc Corporation, and was responsible for prospect development/leasing existing inventory and pursuing build-to-suit office developments and learned all aspects of office development. In 1992 he joined CLW, a boutique Tampa based brokerage firm, and specialized in landlord and tenant representation throughout the Tampa Bay area. This included significant land purchases for clients such as T Rowe Price and Progressive Insurance as well as investments sales and acquisitions for institutional clients such as Prudential. Other major tenant representative clients include WellCare, Bloomin’ Brands, Shumaker Loop & Kendrick, Akerman Senterfitt and ConnectWise. CLW was sold to a national brokerage group, Cassidy Turley, in 2013. Thru subsequent acquisitions and mergers, this group became Cushman & Wakefield in 2017. James continued his “local brokerage” focus which was fueled by the global presence of C&W and diverse business expertise (in particular Capital Markets where his skill sets have been able to align to service buyers and sellers).
