Bio

James R. Bogard is a Principal and the Chief Credit Officer of American Street Capital. Mr. Bogard has an extensive background in all facets of commercial lending having senior positions with financial advisory companies and community banks throughout the Chicago metropolitan market. Prior to joining ASC, Mr. Bogard was the Principal at Wenonah Development for four years having successfully syndicated debt and equity placement for residential and commercial developments. Mr. Bogard spearheaded a service that provided evaluation and establishment of exit strategies for the residential and commercial assets of the company's high net worth clients. Prior to his term at Wenonah, Mr. Bogard was a Vice-President at Omni National Bank in Oak Park, IL for seven years. One of the leading originators at the bank during his tenure, Mr. Bogard was directly involved in the establishment of the bank's asset management audit program which helped substantially reduce non-performing loans. Mr. Bogard also held the position of Assistant Vice-President for the Community Bank of Oak Park/River Forest having successfully managed a $180MM commercial real estate portfolio during his six years at the bank. Mr. Bogard started his career at Bank of Springfield as a credit analyst officer establishing his underwriting and financial analysis skill set focusing on all facets of commercial real estate transactions. Prior to his banking career, Mr. Bogard was a professional baseball player for three years having reached the AA level. Mr. Bogard is particularly proud that he and his wife are both members of the Illinois College Athletic Hall of Fame. Mr. Bogard graduated from Illinois College with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business and Finance. Mr. Bogard is particularly dedicated to his local community of Oak Park, being a member of the Oak Park Development Corp. Micro Loan Committee, board member of the Oak Park Area Visitors Bureau, and being an Oak Park Gala Firework volunteer. During his free time Mr. Bogard enjoys spending time with his wife and son enjoying various athletic activities and being an active member of his community church
