Issie Shait

Issie Shait oversees the management of all of New England Development’s retail and mixed-use properties, including regional centers, outlet centers, street-front retail, neighborhood centers, and office buildings. He works extensively with the leasing and development departments on future properties and redevelopment projects. Specific responsibilities include budget oversight and preparation, operations, income enhancement through specialty leasing and sponsorships as well as tenant and vendor relations. With more than 20 years of experience at New England Development, Mr. Shait has comprehensive experience in retail management, budgeting, leasing, marketing/sales, customer service and promotion; he also served as general manager of five malls. Prior to working at New England Development, Mr. Shait served in managerial and buying capacities at Lord & Taylor, Macy’s and B. Altman & Co. – all in New York; and at Filene’s in Boston. Mr. Shait is a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers where he has achieved the designation as Certified Shopping Center Manager.
