Bio

Harold E. (Hal) Holliday, Jr. joined CBRE’s Debt & Structured Finance Group in 2012 as an Executive Vice President and has been a commercial mortgage banker since 1971. Mr. Holliday established his national reputation after his 1982 co-founding of the firm that became known as Holliday Fenoglio Fowler.

In 1994, AMRESCO, Inc., purchased the firm and Mr. Holliday was asked to serve on the executive committee and charged with growing AMRESCO’s commercial mortgage banking business both organically and via acquisitions. In 1996, he was named President of AMRESCO’s Commercial Mortgage Banking Group. In that position he retained responsibility for the firm he had co-founded and assumed responsibility for growing AMRESCO Capital’s securitization business and private label lending business. He led AMRESCO Capital into multifamily lending programs for both Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. In addition, he assumed responsibility to reorganize and grow AMRESCO Services, the firm’s loan servicing subsidiary. Mr. Holliday also oversaw AMRESCO Research. All of those businesses were sold to Lend Lease in early 2000 and later that year Mr. Holliday joined several of his colleagues and partners at Live Oak Capital.

Mr. Holliday graduated in 1970 with a B.A. from Memphis State University, Cum Laude. He is a past member of the Commercial Board of Governors of the Mortgage Bankers Association where he served as Chairman of the Capital Markets Committee and Vice Chairman of the International Committee and the Legislative Committee. Mr. Holliday is a licensed Texas real estate broker.
