Gerry Miovski is an Executive Vice President and senior member of the Downtown Manhattan office of CBRE. As a global real estate advisor, Gerry spearheads the efforts of his team to provide advisory and transaction services focusing on developing and implementing creative real estate strategies on behalf of a wide variety of clients—including corporate, software, media, educational, financial, legal and nonprofit organizations.
Gerry leads the transaction management team for several significant multimarket clients including DBRS, TMP Worldwide Advertising, HealthStar Communications and the Open Text Corporation, Canada’s largest software firm. Based in Waterloo, Canada, Open Text has approximately three million square feet in global real estate holdings across more than 100 locations. Significant transactions for Open Text include 120,000 sq. ft. in Munich, Germany, 105,000 sq. ft. in Toronto, Canada and 110,000 sq. ft. in San Mateo, California.
In addition to his work with prominent tenants, Gerry has notable experience representing owners and landlords throughout New York City. He was recently awarded REBNY’s prestigious ‘Most Ingenious Deal of the Year’ for his work with Sabey in the game-changing transformation and creative leasing at 375 Pearl Street. Gerry also represents Howard Hughes Corporation in its Seaport Redevelopment where transactions include ESPN and Nike; RXR for 1.2 million sq. ft. at 32 Old Slip; and Mack Cali’s 525,000-sq.-ft. office condo at 125 Broad Street; as well as work at 111/115 Broadway, 90 Broad Street, 40 Wall Street, 31 West 27th Street and 100/104 Fifth Avenue.
In 2013, Gerry arranged the 166,000-sq.-ft. Manhattan relocation and expansion for Nyack College. The lease included rights to expand and purchase the premises, and Nyack College was so grateful for Gerry’s work on their behalf that they acknowledged his service with their Orville H. Mann, Jr. Community Business Leader Award. The award is given to a “trailblazing businessperson in recognition of the individual’s exemplary service and loyal partnership with Nyack College.”
Additionally, Gerry has been recognized on several occasions by CBRE Research—as a recipient of the “Market Information Leadership Award” multiple times. He has also been called upon to provide mentoring and teach internal classes focusing on ethics, business development and environmental sustainability. Gerry received the “Mentor of the Year” award for 2008 and several production performance awards including the CBRE Top 225 for 2009, 2013 and 2016-2018.
Gerry is a guest lecturer at the Pratt Institute, School of Architecture and Facilities Management, a volunteer for the Meals on Wheels program in Westfield, NJ, and a National Governor of the internationally acclaimed Shaw Festival located in Niagara-On-The-Lake, Canada.
