Bio

George J. Rago joined Valuation & Advisory of Cushman & Wakefield, Inc., New York as a Director in July of 1998.

 

He was awarded the titles of Senior Director in December of 2001, Managing Director in December of 2006, Senior Managing Director in January of 2010 and Executive Managing Director in May of 2011. His primary responsibility is the coordination of large commercial and residential portfolios throughout the world but mainly within the United States. Mr. Rago serves as a National Account Manager for many of our larger U.S. clients. In this capacity, he is the main point of contact assisting these clients with all of their valuation needs. Mr. Rago is a member of Cushman & Wakefield's Global Valuation Team and works closely with our counterparts in Europe, Asia, Canada and South America in attending to our clients on a global basis.

 

Prior to joining Cushman & Wakefield, Inc., Mr. Rago was employed by The Chase Manhattan Bank from 1976 through 1998 as a Vice President in their Real Estate Finance Group. During this period, his work was utilized to assist Chase in making decisions regarding acquisition financing, securitization, syndications, equity and debt placement, and loan sales. He made presentations to government regulators, rating agencies, external auditors and Chase senior management.

 

Between 1996 and 1998, Mr. Rago was part of the Underwriting and Evaluation Group and was actively involved in advisory, underwriting and valuation of large commercial assets throughout the United States and the analysis of REIT portfolios for financing purposes.

 

From 1980 to 1996, Mr. Rago was a Division Manager in the Real Estate Appraisal Group where he managed a staff of 17 professional appraisers responsible for the Northeast, Midwest and Central Atlantic regions of the country. In this capacity, he coordinated work flow, trained and gave guidance to his staff, and was responsible for production and quality control.

 

During the 1976 to 1980 period, Mr. Rago performed numerous commercial real estate appraisals on a variety of property types on a national basis.

 

Between 1973 and 1976, Mr. Rago was an appraiser at the Seamen's Bank For Savings where he was responsible for the appraisal of single family homes in the New York metropolitan area.
