Bio

George M. Capodagli, the managing member of Capodagli Property Company (CPC), was blessed to have been born into a family where belonging and giving was the essence of their existence. Giving to family and community in Red Hook, Brooklyn. The principals of belonging and giving are essential to his life both in his personal and professional aspects. George was afforded the opportunity to attend prep school and eventually achieved his Masters’ degrees in accounting and management. In 1970 George bought his first property in Newark, New Jersey. He learned from his first purchase that if you cared about your property and neighborhood, you would be rewarded personally and financially. Today CPC/Meridia has had the privilege to develop in overlooked towns. Coupled with its unique ability to believe and work hard to achieve greatness, CPC has grown their portfolio and pipeline to over a billion dollars. CPC has the ability to see overlooked assets such as The City of Hackensack where CPC was named the first redeveloper to spark the Main Street redevelopment plan. Nothing had been built in many years in Hackensack. Currently, Meridia owns various properties with over 3,000 apartments being built. The Borough of Bound Brook had experienced two devastating floods, 8 to 13 feet of water flooded Main Street on two different occasions. CPC was invited to begin the redevelopment process in Bound Brook. Today, CPC owns and is the developer of over 1000 units, as well as being named by NJ Transit and the Borough as the master developer of the entire Main Street. The City of Garfield had a contaminated dry cleaning plant fenced and boarded up that remained dormant and unremediated for over 30 years. Today the site has been developed and occupied through the efforts of CPC and the City of Garfield. These are just a few examples where CPC has been able to see beyond the problem and create visionary vibrant properties. George M. Capodagli’s work approach of being first in redevelopment is further defined in the City of Rahway, City of Linden, Borough of Roselle Park, Borough of Lincoln Park, Pompton Lakes, Lodi, and recently the Town of Toms River where CPC was awarded rights to develop 500 apartments on the river. George has a significant eye for talent and ability to attract the greatest talent to his company. CPC is honored to have a staff of individuals that are part of the company’s vision and realities. They are truly an integrated company, who finds opportunities, designs in coordination with municipalities to build a superior product. CPC is one cohesive, self-sustaining company from the approvals team, to finance, accounting ,construction and property management, all is done in house.
