Bio

Gavin Sacks is a Managing Principal at James Investment Partners and co-heads the firm’s acquisitions, asset management, and capital-raising activities. He is also founder and principal of GES Investments LLC, a real-estate investment management concern based in Newport Beach, CA. Most recently Gavin operated a large portfolio of multifamily, industrial and office properties for BlackRock, a leading global asset-management and private-equity firm. Previously, he was Vice President for the J.E. Robert Companies, where he oversaw property acquisitions for the company’s JER Investors Trust (NYSE: JRT) affiliate. Prior to JER, Gavin was a principal at Metric Holdings, Inc., a privately held land-development company with investments throughout the Western US and Hawaii. At Metric, Gavin ran the firm’s acquisition and asset management activities for all product categories, including apartments, retail, hospitality, and land assets. Prior to Metric, Gavin was Vice President of Acquisitions and Asset Management for Audubon Communities, Inc., where he headed the firm’s Gulf South division. There he managed the renovation of close to 1,000 apartment units and built and managed a staff of over 60 property management, leasing, and maintenance professionals in four states. Gavin started his real estate career as a sales associate at Arroyo and Coates, where he focused on the sale of apartment buildings in San Francisco and the greater Bay Area. Gavin received an MA in History from Tulane University and a BA in History from Yale University.
