Bio

Having devoted his entire career to the acquisition, construction, financing and management of high-rise buildings in New York City, Gary Jacob is Executive Vice President of Glenwood Management Corp., one of the city’s largest owner/builders of luxury rental apartments. He is also very active in real estate industry planning and policy making. In this capacity, he is Vice President of the Rent Stabilization Association and an Executive Vice President of the Associated Builders and Owners of New York. In addition, he is the co-chairman of the Housing Committee of the Real Estate Board of New York, and is a member of the Board of Governors. He also serves on the M & T Bank’s Mortgage Advisory Board.

A committed community-service volunteer, Gary devotes much of his time to work as Vice President of the Settlement Housing Fund Inc., a not-for-profit developer/manager of affordable housing in New York City. He is also a member of the Board of Directors of the Samuel Waxman Cancer Research Foundation and is Chairman of the Lincoln Square Business Improvement District. Gary is Co-Chair of the Lincoln Center Real Estate Construction Council and New York Chairman of Israel Bonds.

Gary has been active in his fund raising efforts for causes benefiting the Jewish people and the state of Israel. He is a member of the Real Estate Division’s Executive Committee of the UJA-Federation and a supporter of the Anti-Defamation League. For his commitment he has been honored by the American Jewish Committee, and State of Israel Bonds, and has been the recipient of the Tree of Life Award from the Jewish National Fund. He has also been honored by the Settlement Housing Fund and American Ort. Most recently, he was honored by the Real Estate Council of the Metropolitan Museum of Art.

A magna cum laude graduate of Brown University, Gary also holds an MBA from Harvard University.
