Bio

Gardiner Thompson is the Executive Vice President – Chief Operating Officer and General Counsel at Novare Group. Mr. Thompson leads Novare Group’s finance, asset management and operational teams and works closely with Novare Group’s partners, equity providers and lenders to implement the company’s financial strategies. Mr. Thompson has executed joint venture and construction financings for the company’s developments with over 10,500 units and project costs in excess of $2 billion, including the SkyHouse multifamily apartment projects located in Atlanta, Austin, Charlotte, Dallas, Denver, Frisco, Houston, Nashville, Orlando, Raleigh and Tampa and the company’s mid-rise and garden apartment projects located in Sunbelt markets.  Mr. Thompson also leads the company’s disposition efforts and works extensively on land acquisitions, entitlements and pre-development matters for the company’s development projects. Mr. Thompson is responsible for leading the legal strategies and risk management efforts across Novare Group’s various businesses. Mr. Thompson joined Novare Group in 2006. Prior to joining Novare Group, he practiced corporate law at Troutman Sanders LLP, focusing on mergers and acquisitions and real estate joint ventures. Prior to joining Troutman Sanders, Mr. Thompson served as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable Emmett R. Cox on the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit. Mr. Thompson received a B.B.A. in Finance and a J.D. from the University of Georgia.
