Bio

Evan Harms is Vice President – Legal, providing counsel to all departments at EDENS across the company’s portfolio. Evan has been instrumental in negotiations with partners key to EDENS’ mission, including successfully negotiating termination agreements to make way for redevelopment plans, executing deals with high-profile national retailers and leading the legal teams for three of the company’s marquee developments: Union Market, Mosaic and The Shops at Stonefield. Prior to joining EDENS, Evan was the Senior Leasing Counsel at Westfield, where he was in charge of legal operations for Westfield’s portfolio of shopping centers from Connecticut to Florida. He played a prominent role with the creation and implementation of several department initiatives, and was the in-house leasing counsel for Westfield’s retail development project at World Trade Center. Evan also worked in private practice in Washington, DC for 10 years, representing some of the largest owners and developers in the metropolitan area in connection with all aspects of the commercial real estate business. He is a Member of the Bars of the District of Columbia and State of Maryland, and was elected to Super Lawyers – Maryland Rising Stars in Real Estate Law in 2013. Evan graduated from The George Washington University Law School, and earned a Bachelor of Science in Public Policy and Sociology from Indiana University Bloomington. He is a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC).
