Bio

Current Responsibilities As executive vice president and chief financial and administrative officer, Eric Skalland is responsible for leadership and oversight of all United Properties’ financial and administrative activities. In this role, he directs personnel in accounting, financial planning, internal and external reporting and tax planning. In addition, Eric oversees the legal, insurance, risk management and information technology operations of the company. He is a member of the executive team and investment committee and plays a lead role in the development and implementation of United Properties’ overall strategy. Skalland is also chair of the United Properties Charitable Giving Committee. Past Experience Skalland joined United Properties in 2007 as an assistant controller and was promoted to controller in 2010. He was promoted to chief accounting officer and vice president in 2014. Prior to joining United Properties, Eric served as a senior financial analyst at CBS Radio, Inc., and as a senior associate with accounting firm Grant Thornton. In addition to financial expertise, he has significant experience creating impactful corporate strategies and developing strategic partnerships. Professional and Community Involvement Skalland is a member of the Urban Land Institute (ULI), Minnesota Society of CPAs and the National Association of Real Estate Companies (NAREC). He also serves on North Memorial Health Foundation Board and Habitat for Humanity’s Multiplying the Impact Council. In 2018, he joined the Pohlad Audit Committee. Education Skalland holds a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from the University of Minnesota Carlson School of Management. Skalland is a Certified Public Account (CPA).
