Eric Ekman

As Vice President, Development & Acquisitions, Eric is responsible for leading McGuire Development in its pursuit of new acquisition and development opportunities, as well as overseeing all development activities within its portfolio. His experience allows him and his team to tackle a wide array of project types, from a small-scale tenant fit-out to a mixed-use high-rise tower. A current focus for Eric and his team at McGuire Development is the Harolds Square project in Ithaca, NY. The project involves the creation of 78 apartments and 70,000 SF of commercial space, both in newly constructed and historically renovated buildings. Eric most recently worked in a director of a development role for Berkeley Investments in Boston, MA, where he led a variety of historic rehabilitation, adaptive reuse, and new construction infill projects involving office, residential, and retail uses. A notable project that he oversaw from concept to completion was the Watch Factory in Waltham, MA, which consisted of the historic rehabilitation and adaptive reuse of a 400,000 SF mill complex. Eric also has work experience as an urban planner and served in the United States Marine Corps.
