Ellen Mcdonald

llen’s responsibilities with Boston Capital Finance include reviewing and approving monthly draw requests, providing asset management services for both properties under construction as well as stabilized, and assisting with the closing of individual loans.

Ellen retired as a Director at Barings (a MassMutual affiliate) in June 2020, where she had sole responsibility for the asset management of the MassMutual Affordable Housing Direct and Fund Debt Portfolios, and the Affordable Housing Tax Credit Equity Portfolio, a position she held since 2004. Previously she worked in the commercial insurance field, with a focus on third-party worker’s compensation case and client management.

Ellen’s strong organizational skills coupled with her extensive experience with Affordable Housing Debt and Equity, will complement the Boston Capital Finance team.

Ms. McDonald earned a BS in Sociology from Smith College and has also taken various industry courses through the Mortgage Bankers Association. She was also a long-serving trustee on a charter school board, with several years as the board chair.
