Bio
Based out of Detroit, Michigan, David Wilkins is a Managing Director in the company’s FHA Finance group. Mr. Wilkins brings over 20 years of commercial real estate experience to Walker & Dunlop, including ten years of focused expertise in working with affordable housing properties. Mr. Wilkins is responsible for the nationwide origination of multifamily loans through the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), Fannie Mae, and Freddie Mac, and he is focused on the Midwest region.
Prior to Walker & Dunlop, Mr. Wilkins was a managing director at Pillar Financial, a division of SunTrust Bank, where he achieved company-leading sales results. At Pillar, he was responsible for providing multifamily loans through Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, HUD, CMBS providers, life companies, and bridge executions. Mr. Wilkins previously was the principal of GTC Finance, Inc, a loan brokerage firm that he founded in 1995.
Mr. Wilkins attended Michigan State University where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in finance. Outside the company, Mr. Wilkins is an accomplished speaker and writer for various commercial real estate industry events.
