David Semmer

With over 27 years of commercial real estate experience, David Semmer, Senior Director, is responsible for nationwide loan origination, based out of Walker & Dunlop’s Los Angeles, California office. Throughout his career, Mr. Semmer has financed over $2 billion in commercial and multifamily transactions, specializing in retail, industrial, office, and multifamily originations.

Prior to joining Walker & Dunlop, Mr. Semmer served as a senior partner with the George Elkins Mortgage Banking Company which he joined in 1991. In addition to his mortgage banking background, Mr. Semmer also has extensive experience in the brokerage, leasing, and management of commercial properties. Mr. Semmer has received multiple awards throughout his career, including High Producer awards for several of his Correspondent lenders, including Symetra Life Insurance Company, Aegon, American National Life, and Genworth. In addition, he was top producer at Elkins in 2008 and has been runner up in several years from 2009 to the present.

Mr. Semmer earned his bachelor of business administration degree in finance with a minor in economics from Loyola Marymount University.

Beyond the Company, Mr. Semmer is actively involved with the City of Hope, Habitat for Humanity, and the YMCA where he aids in fund raising for these organizations.
