Bio
As Vice President, Development for Core5, David is charged with the development of speculative and build-to-suit warehouse, distribution and manufacturing facilities in the southeast. His expertise includes site selection, land development and building construction with responsibilities ranging from due diligence, entitlements, and site development to the design and construction of vertical building development and tenant construction.
In 2020, the NAIOP Georgia Chapter awarded Core5 and David’s Atlanta regional team with the Industrial Development Deal of the Year for Crossroads Business Center. David’s involvement on the project included direct oversight of the construction, schedule and budget for the project. The 1-million-square-foot development was pre-leased to Amazon on a 10-year lease and was sold in early 2021 at a record cap rate for Metro Atlanta.
A real estate expert with 25 years’ experience in design, construction and development, David has built over 15 million square feet of industrial space across the United States and Mexico. He joined Core5 in June of 2015 from Public Storage where he was charged with strategic positioning and development of new facilities throughout the southeastern United States. Additional prior experience includes 13 years with IDI Logistics (formerly IDI) where he developed manufacturing, distribution and warehouse space in various markets. David began his career for Choate Construction as a project manager in their industrial division and eventually functioned in a dual role as division manager for their concrete division.
David is a graduate of Southern Polytechnic State University in Marietta, Georgia (currently KSU), where he received a bachelor’s degree in Building Construction. David and his wife live in Marietta, Georgia with their four sons. David serves the Boy Scouts of America’s Cub Scouts as Cub Master of Pack 815 and Assistant Scout Master of Troop 795. He also spends time coaching youth baseball and basketball teams. Additionally, David is an avid supporter of Georgia Agape, a non-profit social services organization placing abused, neglected, and dependent children into Christian homes. He currently serves as a board member for his neighborhood HOA and is in charge of the pool and capital improvement projects. David is also an active member of East Cobb Church of Christ and recently served on the Senior Minister Selection Committee.
