As Co-President & Chief Operating Officer, David is responsible for McGuire Development Company (MDC) groundbreaking ideas and making them into reality, in addition to being directly responsible for the Asset Management, Property Management, and Acquisition/Development service lines. Currently, David and his teams are responsible for over $360 MM of assets under management, from office, medical, educational, warehouse, industrial, commercial, residential, and a robust development pipeline. He also serves as the Owner’s Representative on a number of consulting projects for clients. He is responsible for ensuring that clients enter into fair and equitable contracts with the projects sub-consultants, conducting a proactive design review process, and adhering to the project VBT (vision, budget, and timeline). David credits his success to the values attained from his family, his street-wise and never quit attitude, propelled him from the front lines to the executive boardroom. This unconventional path to personal success has taught him to care personally, while challenging directly, the status quo. David manages and builds with passion and confidence, while listening with humility. David also possesses nearly 20 years of healthcare experience and more than 35 years of experience in construction, ranging from residential, to commercial, to heavy highway, and complex healthcare construction. As an experienced Real Estate expert and Project Manager, he has successfully managed numerous complicated construction processes, ensuring the project VBT and deliverables are controlled to meet the project’s objectives. He embraces fully MDC’s signature transparent process, delivering the greatest value to the client. Through his keen attention to detail, he has effectively ensured his projects are completed on time and on or under budget. He has gained a thorough working knowledge through his experiences working in the public, not-for-profit, and private sectors. Project Highlights: 28 projects for Erie County Medical Center Corporation (ECMCC), including its Behavioral Health & Dialysis Center of Excellence and Terrace View long-term care facility; conversion of the former Sheehan Memorial Hospital into Compass East (a class A professional mixed use facility; renovation of the former Holy Angels Academy, a 200 student private school, into the state-of-art, 500+ student Charter Middle School for Applied Technology; suite build-outs for Tonawanda Pediatrics and University Pediatric Dentistry at Northwoods Medical Center; construction of 50,000 SF of space for Spectrum Business Class Services; the ground up construction of Camp Rd 200, a 16,000 SF medical office building; ground up construction of 26,000 SF Excelsior Orthopedics new surgery center, renovation projects for King Center and ground up construction of Tapestry Charter schools; and the historic renovation of the Buffalo School of Culinary Arts and Hospitality Management on Huron Street, in Buffalo NY. David is involved in many organizations throughout the industry and his community. He is a past president of the WNY chapter of the American Society of Healthcare Engineers, member of the Roswell Park Cancer Institute Prostate Cancer Awareness Planning Committee, co-founder of Roswell Park Cancer Institute’s Cruisin’ for a Cure event, member of the Construction Exchange of Buffalo & WNY, member of Upstate NY Chapter of NAOIP, member of the East Aurora Chamber of Commerce, member of the Aerials subcommittee and certified official for the United States Ski and Snowboard, Program Director for the Buffalo Ski Club – Freestyle Team, and a member of the Buffalo Civic Auto Ramps board of directors. He is also a small business owner of the Duck Duck Goose Child Care Center in East Aurora, NY. David is a proud graduate from SUNY Potsdam, where he was introduced to the scientific method and obtained an MBA from Empire State College.
