Bio
Dave Maisel is a Senior Managing Director, Enterprise Risk & Governance with Newmark's Multifamily Capital Markets Group in the firms Bethesda, Maryland office. Dave directs the firm's Enterprise Risk Management efforts covering Multifamily Investment Sales, Multifamily Debt Structuring, and Loan Servicing. Oversight responsibility includes credit, operational, market, liquidity, model, and counterparty risks. This involves assessing, monitoring and communicating risk to the CEO, CFO, and senior leadership. He works closely with the National Head of Underwriting on risk taking activities as well as Head of Loan Servicing on portfolio credit quality.
Prior to his current role, he was head of Asset Management Operations and Risk Management. In that capacity, Mr. Maisel directed the firm's strategic initiatives in growing the servicing book while maintaining high quality risk management and oversight. Mr. Maisel's tenure covered a period when the servicing portfolio grew from $26.6B (1,700 loans) to over $58.0B (3,300 loans). This included leading a team of 26 professionals responsible for all facets of Asset Management operations including collateral surveillance, covenant monitoring, borrower consents, and compliance. Previous roles included Director of the Enterprise Risk Management group, Vice President and Head of Emerging Credit Risk Group at Deutsche Bank, Vice President for Credit Risk Analysis and Loss Mitigation also at Deutsche Bank, Asset Manager for Berkshire Mortgage Finance, and Asset Manager for Patrician Financial.
Education
Dave holds a Bachelor of Science from Townson University and a Masters of Science in Real Estate with a concentration in Institutional Real Estate Investment Analysis from Johns Hopkins University.
