As Managing Director, Chuck Christensen focuses on debt financing for the acquisition and refinance of commercial properties in the Western US. During his 35 years in commercial real estate industry, he has held a variety of positions ranging from Chief Credit Officer, Mortgage Banking CFO, President of a boutique real estate investment and consulting firm and finally the origination of Freddie Mac, Fannie Mae, FHA, balance sheet, bridge and life company loans. Throughout his career, he has acquired and financed more than $3 billion in commercial real estate.Prior to joining Berkadia, Mr. Christensen was a Senior Vice President at Capital One for 7 years where he originated Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, FHA and Life Company loans. Prior to Capital One, Mr. Christensen opened the Orange County office for Walker and Dunlop where he was responsible for originating loans for commercial properties nationwide. Previously, Mr. Christensen was the President of a boutique commercial real estate firm that acquired distressed real estate and consulted for lenders on their distressed asset portfolios. Mr. Christensen spent the previous 15 years with Banker Mutual serving as CFO and was promoted to the Chief Credit Officer during his tenure. Bankers Mutual eventually became a part of Newmark Knight Frank.
