Bio

Since founding Cornerstone in 1979, Bruce A. Fischman has successfully steered the company through multiple cycles of the real estate market, responding to its resulting challenges and opportunities. He has built a diverse portfolio that includes shopping centers, industrial parks, apartments and residential space, parking garages, and other commercial properties. By selectively adding value through re-tenanting, refinancing, expanding and renovating, he has earned a reputation for consistently generating sound investment opportunities. An experienced property owner and developer, Fischman plays an active role in all aspects of Cornerstone's projects. Fischman received his B.S. in finance from Long Island University and his J.D. from Brooklyn Law School. Before founding Cornerstone, he worked as an attorney for several notable Connecticut firms, including Blume, Elbaum & Fischman. An active member of the community, he served as a Member of the Board of Trustees and past President of the Jewish Community Foundation and as Vice President and Director of the Jewish Federation of Greater Hartford and the Greater Hartford Jewish Community Center. He is also a past president and member of the Board of Directors at Tumble Brook Country Club.
