Brian Van Winkle is the Chief Financial Officer of Cornerstone Capital Partners Corporation. Mr. Van Winkle’s responsibilities at Cornerstone Capital include management of the transaction underwriting, return assessment and asset review processes for all equity investments and underwritten debt investments. Mr. Van Winkle has approximately 15 years of progressive experience in accounting, reporting and management, ranging from Big 4 public accounting to a multi-billion dollar SEC registrant. Prior to joining Cornerstone, Mr. Van Winkle held various management positions with Hexion, Inc., an SEC-registered specialty chemical manufacturer. While with Hexion, Mr. Van Winkle was responsible for the oversight of all of its publicly-filed financial statements, as well as leading the corporate reporting and financial consolidation groups. In addition, Mr. Van Winkle was a member of the company’s Disclosure Committee and was also the chair of its Accounting and Financial Policies Committee. During his tenure at Hexion, Mr. Van Winkle oversaw key aspects of numerous highly complex corporate transactions, including public debt offerings, initial public offerings, acquisitions, divestitures, Chapter 11 bankruptcy proceedings and carve-out audits. Prior to his time at Hexion, Mr. Van Winkle worked as a CPA in PricewaterhouseCooper’s assurance practice in Columbus, OH. During his tenure at PwC, Mr. Van Winkle led and performed audits for dozens of clients, ranging from middle-market automotive parts manufacturers to Fortune 500 SEC-registered clients. His experience ranged across numerous industries, including financial services, retail and manufacturing. He also had extensive experience related to audits of internal controls over financial reporting under Section 404 of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act. Mr. Van Winkle received his Bachelors of Science and Business Administration, majoring in Accountancy, from Miami University in Oxford, OH, and is also a licensed CPA in the State of Ohio.
