Brian Hecktman

Brian Hecktman is the founding principal and CEO of Graymark Capital. He has over 20 years of direct experience investing as a principal and working with institutional partners. Mr. Hecktman has completed over $1 billion of acquisitions in office, R&D, industrial, multifamily and residential sectors. Under his leadership Graymark Capital has purchased 25 office/R&D/Life Science/industrial properties comprising over 2.7 million square feet and over $1.1 billion of value. Prior to Graymark Capital, Mr. Hecktman served as the Senior Vice President of the Commercial Division for Fowler Property Acquisitions, a $2 billion real estate investment firm headquartered in San Francisco. Over seven years, Mr. Hecktman worked his way up from an analyst to the head of the commercial division. With FPA, he was involved in over 100 transactions with an average size over $10 million and providing superior returns to investors. In successfully starting and managing the commercial division, his responsibilities included acquisitions, due diligence, financing and portfolio management of a 25-property, $400 million commercial portfolio. Mr. Hecktman has a Masters of Business Administration from the University of Chicago and a Bachelor of Science in accountancy and finance from the University of Illinois. Mr. Hecktman has worked with a number of non-profits in San Francisco, including SF Moderates, Hands On Bay Area and Project Homeless Connect.
