As Executive Managing Director of CBRE's Retail Advisory & Transaction Services | Occupier practice, Brandon Famous is responsible for the practice's business operations, business development, financial performance and recruitment in the U.S., Canada and Latin America. In this role Brandon advises 1,000 retailers on their real estate needs in the Americas, and oversees more than 500 retail brokers. As Chairman of CBRE's Global Retail Occupier Executive Committee, he leads CBRE's representation of retailers in cross-border expansion worldwide.
Brandon joined CBRE in late 2013 as an Executive Vice President upon the company's acquisition of Fameco Real Estate, LP, of which Brandon was co-founder and Chief Executive Officer. He has more than 30 years experience in retail and commercial real estate, and has completed more than 1,700 retail lease transactions totaling in excess of 16 million square feet of space. He has represented numerous top-tier retail occupiers, including Chipotle, Starbucks, The Home Depot, and Nordstrom Rack. He has completed transactions with Simon Property Group, General Growth Properties, PREIT and Allied Properties. He plays an active role in retail consulting, site selection, acquisition negotiations, construction, and economics analysis.
Prior to founding Fameco, Mr. Famous' retail background included eight years in leasing and development with two of the Delaware Valley's largest shopping center developers and five years in retail operations and site selection for a mid-Atlantic sportswear retailer. He is a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers and was active within ChainLinks Retail Advisors, a national network of independently owned retail real estate advisors.
