Bio
Mr. Berkley is a Principal and one of the founders of Artemis. Mr. Berkley sits on the Firm's Investment Committee and is responsible for accounting, financial reporting, portfolio and risk management. Mr. Berkley joined Artemis in September 2009 and is based in the Firm's headquarters in metropolitan Washington, D.C. Prior to Artemis, Mr. Berkley served in a variety of roles at JER, including Director and CFO of JER's European Investment Platform located in London, England. In his capacity as CFO, Mr. Berkley was responsible for managing the finance and accounting functions of three private equity funds with aggregate capital commitments in excess of $1 billion. Prior to assuming the CFO position, Mr. Berkley served within various groups within JER including acquisitions and asset management, portfolio and risk management, investor relations and finance and accounting. Prior to JER, Mr. Berkley worked for Arthur Andersen in Washington, D.C. Mr. Berkley received a bachelor's degree from Washington & Jefferson College and an M.B.A. from The College of William and Mary. Mr. Berkley is a Certified Public Accountant (inactive). Mr. Berkley is a mentor for a teenager in in the Horton's Kids program and spends a significant amount of time and resources helping young children in an impoverished area of Washington D.C.
