Robert Mundy is the founder of Estates & Companies headquartered in Columbia, South Carolina. Estates is a multi-family residential and commercial real estate development, management, and investment firm specializing in the development of custom multi-family apartment communities and condominium projects.

Since the founding of the company in 1988, Mundy has secured successes throughout the changing economic environments solidifying Estates’ position within the market. The company’s success is directly attributable to solid, conservative financial planning and underwriting; thorough market and demographic analysis; and long-term management. Mundy firmly believes that well-managed properties will provide investment returns that exceed national averages and their experience continues to create equity, value, high-quality developments, and award-winning communities.


Throughout its 25+ year history, Mundy has worked with his teams to develop several thousand multi-family rental and for sale units; an office park community and retail centers in markets throughout South Carolina, North Carolina, Georgia and Florida.





Mundy is an active member in Urban Land Institute and served twice as the Chair of the ULI Midlands and serves on the ULI Midlands of South Carolina District Council. He served as a Founding Executive Committee Member for ULI South Carolina as well. He also maintains active membership personally and through the company to the National Association of Homebuilders, Multi-Housing World, National Apartment Association, and the Institute of Real Estate Management. A graduate of Clemson University he has been a board member to the Clemson University Real Estate Foundation and the Clemson University Masters of Real Estate Development Board. Recently he has been appointed as a Member to the Wells Fargo Advisory Board of the Midlands. Mundy attends and serves on Shandon Baptist Church’s finance committee.
