Ben Silver

Benjamin Silver is Head of Global Real Estate Debt which is part of Barings Alternative Investments. He is responsible for managing all aspects of Barings' global real estate lending business, which includes global core mortgage loans, structured loans and government sponsored entity agency lending. Ben has worked in the debt industry since 1992 and his experience includes portfolio management, origination, product management, audit and capital raising. Prior to his current role, Ben was the Head of Product Management for the firm's Global Private Finance Group. Prior to joining Barings in 2008, he was a Senior Vice President and Business Development Manager at GE Commercial Finance. He also held origination, portfolio management and underwriting positions at Union Bank of California, Foothill Capital Corporation and Fleet Bank. Ben holds a B.S. in Accounting from the University of Massachusetts.
