Bio
On 10/3/2022, Barry “unretired” and joined his friend of almost 40 years, Lance Patterson, and Lance’s partners and the rest of the team at the Patterson Real Estate Advisory Group. Prior to this, Barry spent 24 years at Goldman Sachs, retiring in 2021. Barry was a Managing Director of Goldman Sachs and was a member of the Real Estate Principalling Area of the Merchant Banking Division. He Co-Headed a group responsible for sourcing, underwriting and structuring commercial real estate debt and equity investments and was a voting member on the Real Estate Investment Committee. During his career, Barry has been responsible for the origination of commercial real estate investments totaling over $80 billion in total capitalization.
Prior to joining Goldman Sachs, he worked in the Commercial Real Estate lending departments of Bank of America and JP Morgan Chase. At JP Morgan Chase, Barry ran the Commercial Real Estate Mezzanine and Syndications Group for the Texas operations. He received a BBA from the University of Wisconsin and a MBA from Southern Methodist University.
Barry is a member of the Urban Land Institute (past chair of a product council), on the Board of the Dallas Real Estate Council, and a member of the Business Associates Program at Southern Methodist University.
