Andrew Vita, Sr.

Andrew (Andy), a WWII U.S. Navy veteran, grew up during the Great Depression. The hardships of that period helped shape his lifelong work ethic early on. Andy’s career in real estate began in 1955 with Galesi Realty Corp., where he headed the brokerage department and served as the company’s Senior Vice President. Although the company initially concentrated on residential transactions, in the early 1960’s the company began to focus on commercial real estate, at the dawn of the strip shopping center age. It was then that Andy began developing properties and brokering major department and grocery store shopping centers with anchors such as A&P Supermarkets, Grand Union, Grandway Department stores, Two Guys Department stores, and others. The company grew to be one of the largest owners of shopping centers in the State. Andy is now Chairman to Vita & Vita Realty Corp. and serves as Manager and General Partner to numerous real estate entities.
