Alex Bhathal

Alex Bhathal serves as Managing Partner and Founder of RAJ Capital, the asset management platform of the Bhathal Family. In this role, Alex actively manages investment activities in sports, real estate, and consumer products.

Alex is co-owner of Sacramento Basketball Holdings LLC, for which he serves as Executive Director. The firm owns the Sacramento Kings franchise of the National Basketball Association (NBA), Golden 1 Center and is the developer of the Downtown Commons entertainment and sports district in Sacramento and other subsidiaries.

He serves as Managing Partner of RevOZ Capital, a leader and early adopter in Opportunity Zone real estate investing. In 2019, Globe St. honored RevOZ as the inaugural “Opportunity Zone Investor of the Year”.

After completing his graduate school studies, Alex joined RAJ Swim in 2000 and was named president in 2006. He led the largest private equity backed acquisition in the history of the swimwear industry. Alex and his sister, Lisa Merage, continued to run the company until they both exited the business in 2015. The company celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2017 and has been honored in the past by the Orange County Business Journal as “Family Business of the Year,” was the inaugural recipient of the Southern California Apparel Awards "Trendsetter of the Year" in 2014 and was the 2015 winner of the Reinventing Award by the Association for Corporate Growth.

He serves on the board of Gen Next (a policy orientated non-profit), the California Coast chapter of the Young Presidents Organization (YPO), and Aspyr Holdings (Orange Theory Fitness franchises) and is Investment Partner of Rx3 Growth Partners, a consumer growth fund.

His hobbies include competing in triathlons, travel, art appreciation, and is a Boston Marathon finisher. Alex lives in Newport Beach with his wife and son.

Alex earned his undergraduate degree from University of California Los Angeles, his Master's in Business Administration from the University of Southern California, and is a current participant in the Presidents Program in Leadership at Harvard Business School.
