Established and younger growth companies seeking a strategic, informed approach to their real estate needs will enjoy working with Ajay to strategize a real estate plan consistent with their corporate strategy.
Testimonials
Luke
Kanies, CEO and Founder of Puppet Labs, one of the fastest growing startups in
the United States, Technology Association of Oregon’s “Technology Company of
the Year – Rising Star” and a CBRE Portland client, observed that, “Since our relocation from Nashville in 2009,
Portland has been a great place to grow and attract employees that have
collectively made Puppet Labs a trusted name in the IT automation community.
CBRE’s acknowledgment that the needs of companies like ours are unique and
different from law firms or banks is commendable; so a tech focused practice
makes sense to me —
congrats to Ajay for carrying the flag for Portland.”
Cloudability CEO and Founder Mat Ellis, a TechStars graduate shared that “Among many other introductions Ajay introduced me to two investors, both of which joined our round. As a result, we were able to do a larger round and close sooner than expected. Connectors like Ajay are very rare. He is intimately familiar with the needs of startups, very well connected and maintains a very high profile in the local community, which means he’s in the right place at the right time to fully apply his network and expertise. We are very grateful to know Ajay and have his support.”
Nat
Parker, CEO and Co-Founder of GlobeSherpa, a CBRE client and 2014 winner of
Technology Association of Oregon’s “Technology Company Year – Startup” award is
a leader in cashless mobile ticketing and mobile payment systems for public
transit, added, “It was a delight to work with Ajay, who helped us find an
incredible and painless solution after our recent graduation from the ISITE/TiE
Pearl incubator. Ajay’s combined tech and business background enabled him to
truly understand our business needs, and along with his team, helped us balance
moving into a sophisticated office location that reflects our brand and culture
while preserving the creative environment and energy that makes us a successful
startup.”
“Our move into Block 300 was a critical move to get right,” said Bill
Koefoed, CFO of Puppet Labs. “Our office space is tied closely to our
culture and is critical in serving our customers. CBRE’s Ajay Malhotra
and Sarah Drew were fantastic throughout the process and made sure the
move was seamless - we were up and running very quickly with a
negligible impact on our employees or operations.”
Scott Grout, CEO of Cedexis, "We had a great experience working with Ajay and the CBRE team. They quickly and efficiently found us a great new space to expand as we grow out our team." JoyceBoss, CFO of Cedexis added, "Ajay and Kristin were amazing to work with. They consistently exceeded expectations and found us a variety of options that would work well for Cedexis. Our CBRE team has exceptional customer service and is a true business partner."
Dudley Slater, Private Investor, former President, Direct Health Solutions (Cambia) and former CEO and founder, Integra Telecom commented that "After many months of prospecting for commercial property investments in a crowded, sellers market I was delighted to discover and benefit from the experience and relationship focused perspective offered by Ajay Malhotra and Kristin Hammond. They took the time to listen and think about my unique needs and brought me opportunities from a fresh and thoughtful perspective, ultimately allowing me to make some great decisions in a difficult market.
“Portland has continued to score high on many metrics important to tech startups, creating the vibrant tech community that exists here today. Our aim is to provide a resource-rich environment that will continue to foster and provide world class services and support for our member companies to expand nationally and internationally; and in this context, we applaud the creation of CBRE’s Technology and Media Practice and Ajay’s involvement,” said Skip Newberry, President of the Technology Association of Oregon.
