Value creation is normally achieved by a combination of factors involving rebranding of the hotel, repositioning the product through capital expenditure and by improving the management and profitability. Westmont has franchise relationships with most major hotel brands and is able to objectively determine the most appropriate brand for each asset. Westmont has invested in various types of hotels including limited service, extended stay, mid-market, full service, boutique and luxury hotels, as well as upscale resorts. Throughout the years, Westmont has had an ownership interest in and operated over 1000 hotels. Currently this stands at over 500 hotels across four continents. Westmont has formed strategic alliances with many of the world’s largest hotel brands. These include Hilton, Marriott/Starwood, InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG), Hyatt, Fairmont and Choice Hotels. The company is one of the largest owner/operators of IHG and Hilton hotels worldwide. Westmont has a very diversified portfolio ranging from 2–5 star properties, full service to limited service business hotels, large conference hotels, aparthotels, boutique hotels and high-end luxury hotels. In general, Westmont has an ownership interest in the assets it operates.
