Washington Capital is a 100% employee-owned firm. We believe this unique ownership structure is directly linked to the firm’s growth and success and has allowed us to build a cohesive and collaborative firm culture. We have a team-orientated approach to meeting the needs of our clients and investment partners. This sense of collaboration is reflected across the organization. Washington Capital began managing real estate assets in the late 1980’s when we underwrote a commercial loan for a pension trust. Previously, WaCap only managed fixed income and stock strategies. More than 30 years later, our real estate business now accounts for the majority of our assets under management. We provide clients with exposure to real estate debt and equity through our commingled vehicles3 and also offer separate account management for clients with individual real estate assets.

Since the inception of Washington Capital’s real estate investment strategies, we have employed a union-build approach. Our development projects require union labor. We believe that utilizing the skilled men and women of the union trades leads to projects being delivered on time, under budget and with less warranty call-backs.
