Shanda

Shanda is a global, privately-owned investment group founded by Chinese online entertainment pioneer Tianqiao Chen and his family in 1999. Shanda invests primarily in two extreme ends of the spectrum – either truly disruptive technologies at an early developmental stage or undervalued publicly listed companies with significant turnaround potential. Shanda World Asset Management is a core piece of Shanda focus on “technology-driven development” in China. With a footing in technologically innovative industries, the company specializes in the investment and operational management for technology innovation parks and commercial office buildings in China and abroad. In the ten years since its establishment, Shanda World Asset Management’s business has grown to include Shanghai, Silicon Valley and Tokyo. The total area under management is nearly one million square meters (10.7 million square feet), and its assets are valued at nearly 100 billion yuan ($152 million). Its core brand, Shanda World Technological Innovation Parks, has become a well-known name in the sector.
