Industry visionary Dan Poag with then business partner Terry McEwen, founded the predecessor to Poag & McEwen Lifestyle Centers, LLC, over three decades ago with an innovative idea that transformed retail real estate. With his background in strip center development, Dan knew that shoppers enjoyed the convenience and safety of easily accessible stores. He took this concept to the next level by designing centers that offer national specialty stores, restaurants, superior architecture and landscaping, park-like gathering areas, and other amenities to create open-air environments that reflect the communities in which they are located.

Dan’s ventures over the years successfully developed lifestyle centers throughout the country including Town Center Plaza in Leawood, KS, Deer Park Town Center in Deer Park, IL, Aspen Grove in Littleton, CO, Briargate in Colorado Springs, CO, The Promenade Shops at Centerra in Loveland, CO, The Promenade Shops at Saucon Valley in Central Valley, PA, One Pacific Place in Omaha, NE, The Promenade Shops at Evergreen Walk in South Windsor, CT, The Promenade Shops at Dos Lagos in Corona, CA, and The Shops of Saddle Creek in Germantown, TN to name a few, and garnered the attention of major national media outlets including The Wall Street Journal, CNN Money, Shopping Centers Today and more. Bringing together the knowledge and experience of several members of Dan’s past teams under the leadership of President and Chief Executive Officer Joshua Poag, Poag Shopping Centers will focus on retail with lifestyle retailers as the basis of its developments, but the future lies in a mixing of uses.
