MacFarlane Partners is an investment management firm that acquires, develops and manages real estate assets on behalf of some of the world’s largest pension plans and institutions. Since 1987, the company has built an impressive track record that spans multiple market cycles and a broad range of investment strategies, property sectors and capital structures.

For more than three decades, we have worked extensively in acquiring stabilized real estate assets, developing new projects, rehabilitating and repositioning existing properties, taking over underperforming portfolios, and managing assets to higher value.

Today, we focus exclusively on investments that promote smart growth, urban revitalization and sustainability in urban and high-density suburban submarkets of select “Gateway Cities” within the United States. We also acquire equity stakes in emerging/growth real estate companies active in such submarkets.

Since launching the urban program in 1996, MacFarlane has invested $13 billion in office, retail, hotel, multifamily, and mixed use properties in New York City, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Seattle, and Washington D.C.
