Liberty is a privately-held real estate investment, development and management firm focused on income-producing assets and related equity and debt investments on behalf of both individual and institutional investors. We leverage our strengths to provide services and expertise where we can create long-term value. Founders, Mike and Melissa Mikkelson, started Liberty with a keen focus on long-term relationships and challenging the status-quo. After moving to Orlando, Florida, they built their first Self-Storage facility in 1988 near International Drive, in Orlando, FL. Mike and Melissa proved their ability to perform, despite the challenging economic climate, and the facility leased up in just under a year. As a result of consistent application of their philosophy and principals Liberty has invested in over 80 properties stretching across the US in asset classes including self-storage, hospitality, office and multi-family with total capital investments nearing $700 million.
