OUR HISTORY

Stanley Chera and Isaac Chera Sr. founded and ran a chain of regional children's specialty stores in urban metro areas for three generations. Shortly after opening their first stores, the Cheras began acquiring the buildings they operated out of, then the buildings nearby, and within a generation real estate had emerged as a core, competitive competency. Though we have since divested in retail operations, Crown invests based on experiences as an owner, operator, landlord and tenant – invaluable perspectives that have contributed significantly to our success.

OUR PHILOSOPHY

Crown combines a conservative investment culture with a creative and entrepreneurial approach to investing. We invest alongside our partners in every deal and we steward that capital with utmost care. We believe in fundamental drivers of value and the flexibility and security such structuring provides. Relationships drive our business and we are proud of our reputation, which is exemplified by our longstanding relationships with other investors, tenants and financial institutions.

Our retail repositioning and redevelopment projects throughout Manhattan are a testament to that approach. Our projects include: the acquisitions and repositioning of the retail condominium at 666 Fifth Avenue, the re-tenanting of Herald Center, the acquisitions and repositioning of the retail condominium at 717 Fifth Avenue and the acquisition and re-tenanting of 600 Broadway, the gateway of SoHo.
